What we get asked.
About the Growcast + unit, its modules and the platform. If your question is not here, let us book a meeting.
Hardware
MOCK ANSWERS — TO BE CONFIRMEDDoes Growcast + work without internet?+
Yes. It measures, evaluates rules and drives outputs locally; it keeps the record and syncs when back online.
How many sensors and devices can I connect?+
The SENSORS and DEVICES ports take Growcast sensors and devices; how many depends on the installation.
Can I use sensors I already have installed?+
It depends on the sensor type. We check it on the site visit.
What load can the outputs take?+
Three 220 V AC sockets, 10 A max in total; larger loads go through a contactor.
How is it installed? Do I need an electrician?+
It mounts on the wall by its brackets and plugs into 220 V. For the equipment power wiring we recommend a licensed electrician.
Is it for silos and ripening too, or only rooms?+
The same unit covers all three; the sensors and the equipment it controls change.
Does it work with equipment I already have?+
When the installation allows it, Growcast drives existing electrical equipment through its outputs.
How is the firmware updated?+
From the platform, remotely.
What warranty and support does the unit have?+
To be defined.
How do I get a quote for a full installation?+
With the designer you lay out your room, silo or chamber and get the bill of materials.
Software
Do I need Growcast hardware to use the platform?+
The platform works with Growcast devices: sensors, electronic control equipment, connectivity and cloud data are part of one solution.
What happens if the site loses internet?+
Automations run on the device itself, so they keep executing. Each automation also defines a safe state: where the output stays when the logic cannot be resolved.
How many users can I have and with which permissions?+
Each person joins the organization by invitation, with a role: the Operator executes and monitors, the Grower manages the operation and the Administrator has full control. Roles stack.
How do alarms reach me?+
By push notification, Telegram or email. Each user picks their channels and which events to hear about; the alarm is logged in Activity even with no channels enabled.
Can I build my own panels?+
Yes. You create several panels, pick the widgets and their variables, and arrange them on the grid. Panels belong to the organization: what one member creates is available to the rest.
What is the MCP server and what is it for?+
MCP is the standard through which Growcast opens its data and actions to an AI assistant. It connects with a single address and works with the role of the account that authorizes it.
Can the assistant change things on site?+
It can create tasks, lots and alarms and apply automations; hardware actions are flagged so it asks for confirmation before executing them. It deletes nothing and does not manage users.
Can I export the data?+
Analytics exports the series to CSV. Sector, lot, cycle or specimen reports download as PDF, are shared by link or sent by email.
How is the platform billed?+
By subscription. Advanced automations and PRO templates require the PRO plan, and how much history you can query depends on the plan.
Where is the data stored?+
In the Growcast cloud. From there it is consulted in the app, in Analytics and in the reports.
Let's talk about your operation.
Is there an important process that today is handled by eye, without data? Every implementation starts by understanding the operation.
